Betty Crocker's Hamburger Stroganoff

1 pound ground beef
1 medium onion, chopped (about 1/2 cup)
1/4 cup butter or margarine
2 tablespoons flour
1 teaspoon salt
1 teaspoon garlic salt or 1 clove garlic, minced (I prefer the minced garlic)
1/4 teaspoon pepper
1 can (8 ounces) mushroom stems and pieces, drained
1 can (10 1/2 ounces) condensed cream of chicken soup
1 cup dairy sour cream
2 cups hot cooked noodles
Snipped parsley

In a large skillet, cook and stir ground beef and onion in butter until onion is tender. Stir in flour, salt, garlic or garlic salt, pepper and mushrooms; cook 5 minutes, stirring constantly. Remove from heat.

Stir in soup; simmer uncovered 10 minutes. Stir in sour cream; heat through. Serve over noodles. Sprinkle with snipped parsley.

4 to 6 servings.

Ooo- I love straganoff. My mom makes the best straganoff. My kids and hubby won't eat it. So sometimes I make a batch just for myself. Yum!

This recipe is perfect! I am on a soft food diet due to dental surgery and my family is getting sick of eating yucky soft food for dinner. I try to make something I can have that they will eat. I can have ground beef starting this week...so thank you for the idea!

You just saved me. I have ground turkey thawed out and I had no idea what to make out of it. This is perfect, thanks!

Wanda, this is a nice looking recipe! I do a similar dish adding just a little Old Bay Seasoning that works well.

BTW, I see Chilly is doing a nice job on your blog. It's looking good :)

Thank you all for stopping by and for the sweet comments on this recipe. I hope you have tried it and enjoyed it as much as Chilly and I do. This recipe is great for leftovers too. I usually take the leftovers, place them in a corning ware dish, cover with saran wrap and the lid for storage. Before I reheat it, I remove both the lid and saran wrap and sprinkle a few drops of water over the top of the mixture and recover it with the lid. It adds just enough moisture to keep it from being too dry and tastes fresh made again.
Thank you too Rita and Naokos for the awards. I will be over to your blogs to pick them up as soon as possible.
Everyone have a great weekend! (((HUGS)))
