Sausage-Cheese Balls

10 oz. shredded sharp cheddar cheese
1 lb sausage (any flavor you like)
3 cups baking mix
water

Mix ingredients with just enough water to hold together.  Roll into balls about the size of a ping pong ball or golf ball.  Bake 1" apart on a cookie sheet 15 to 20 minutes at 350 degrees.

***I like to make these ahead to prepare for breakfast or parties.  I roll the balls and place them on a cookie sheet.  The cookie sheet goes into the freezer just until they are frozen.  Remove them from the freezer and place the frozen balls into a freezer safe plastic bag or container.  Take out as many of the sausage balls as you would like to cook each time.  They are great to take with you to work for break or for kids breakfast.***

These are absolutely delicious! They're easy to make and I love serving them at parties. My son actually really likes them, and it's hard to get him to eat anything. I never thought to make them for breakfast for him. Thanks for the freezing tip too.

Thanks Kristie and Masked Rider Boogaloo for stopping by. I too love these for just about anytime of the day. It's wonderful when you can make them ahead, take them from the freezer and bake them. I like to make them for breakfast. They are ready by the time I am.

These sound delicious, and very easy to make! This may seem like a dumb question, but do you pre-cook the sausage before you mix the ingredients?

Hi Beth, I think you will enjoy these if you make them. I am making them this weekend and will put a picture on the blog when I do. The sausage is NOT cooked before you mix the ingredients. It all cooks very quickly and evenly once it is mixed.
Thank you for stopping by and please stop by anytime. Have a great weekend!
